              Code Name: Recall
              Real Name: Betty Bates
              Alignment: Chaotic Good
              X-Men class: 5
              Starcraft class: 12
              Powers and Abilities:
Betty is an omni-mage and is able to channel vast cosmic and magical powers to attack foes in many ways, and defend herself in many ways. She is able to produce storms magical missiles of pure magical energy, or fire energy, or cold energy. She is able to produce several Lightning effects, including lightning armor for herself, chain lightning, and ball lightning, and the energy level of her fire and lightning spells is similar to a nuclear bomb, except that it is also magical.

As a class 12 Telepath, Betty is continually evolving towards a more perfect form; Her physical body is regenerative, and her intelligence increases with age rather than decreasing. She is fluent in several languages, which she can learn telepathically within a few minutes of probing another person's mind.

Betty is able to open dimensional portals to other universes, and allow matter and energy from those universes to enter our universe, or vice versa. She can direct matter from those universes into a meteor shower, or an anti-matter explosion She can allow the anti-matter to produce an unfocused fire and wind attack, or focus it into a singular beam attack. Betty can also dimension banish foes, and she can teleport through alternate dimensions. Betty is also able to slow time for a victim by 33%, or speed up time for herself by 33%.

Betty is able to transform herself into an Esper form, making herself immune to physical attacks

Betty is able to heal herself (and others) even from mortal wounds and maiming wounds.

Betty can also store her magical powers in wands, staffs, rods, and rings and amulets, which she can use as a back-up when exhausted, or they may be given to other persons for use.

Betty does not use "spells" to produce her magical effects; All she needs is the power of pure imagination, like Charlie McGee in the Firestarter movie.

              Power Grid:
              Intelligence: 6.5
              Strength: 2

                Code Name: Syphon
                Real Name: Lana Lansing
                Alignment: Neutral Evil
                X-Men Class: 4
                Starcraft Class: 8
                Height: 5'7"
                Weight: 135lbs
                Age: 18
                Powers and Abilities:
Lana is able to drain the life energy and mutant abilities from victims on touch or on sight radius. When touching the victim, 1 second of contact is enough to make most mortals pass out and enter a coma, while 10 seconds of contact is enough to kill mortals. She is able to direct life draining and ability draining powers in a radius of 10 meters spherically, but the ranged life drain and ability drain is only 1/10th as strong as the touch ability.

Lana evolves and unlocks new powers by absorbing the abilities and life energy of others. She has absorbed several other persons already, including at least one mutant. Already, as such she has extremely enhanced life energy and is impervious to most forms of attack. Her intelligence is also greatly enhanced because of this, and her mind has already grown beyond the physical limits of her body. She is able to project her mind into the Astral Plane both while awake and asleep, and planeswalk without physically entering the other planes.

She is able to coat her skin and bones in an organic Carbon-Titanium-Steel alloy, which has the tensile strength of twice that of steel, and a hardness similar to diamond, greatly enhancing durability. She acquired this ability from one of the mutants she absorbed.

Lana is already fluent in several languages from absorbing the minds of several victims.

Her stated goal is to evolve into a "god" and she has a serious god-complex. She is an associate of "Lich" and they study one another's abilities. She plans on backstabbing Lich and draining his powers...some day.

                Power Grid:
                Intelligence: 6.5
                Strength: 2 / 7
                Speed: 3 / 7(Astral Plane Travel)

                    Starcraft Class: 8
                    Powers and Abilities:
He is able to generate fireballs by the power of thought. There is no need for hand gestures or such, as the fireballs appear in front of his body and fly outwards, easily and effortlessly. He may evolve into a higher Starcraft class, but for now he is about as powerful as an average Protoss High Templar on the Starcraft telepath scale. Blazer is also mildly telekinetic and mildly telepathic. The Fireballs are powerful enough to destroy automobiles and Siege Tanks in one shot. He is also bullet proof due to a pyrokinetic force field he can erect around his skin. He can fly at 10m/s^2 acceleration via Telekinesis.

I really want to create characters is roughly the Starcraft class 8 range, but they take the most work, I think, to create. If I were writing a comic I would not use half the characters I've written here, because they are too degenerate.

"Blazer" is nice, because I defined him as a class 4 X-Men class, and class 8 Starcraft class. I could do a little more work on the character and flesh him out some I guess.

I like "Syphon" for a villain, but she needs to be toned down to class 4/8 instead of 5/12.

Most of Marvel's most popular characters are "class 4", while Jean Gray was stated in the movie to be "Class 5". However, in the Movie they made the Phoenix Force a latent part of Jean Grey's consciousness, whereas in the Comic and the Disney cartoon this was not the case. In X-Men: Evolution, they made the Phoenix Force part of Jean Grey's consciousness again, and Rogue drained off half of Jean's power to help her control herself...but Jean's Consciousness Possessed Rogues Body, and not the other way around.

So anyway, Class 4 mutants and maybe Class 3 mutants turn out to be more interesting than Class 5, usually I'd say. Wolverine is a class 3 mutant, and he has more movies than the other X-Men characters combined.

Alright kids, I'll try something different. I'll write a short story about a fight between one of the heroes and one of the villains. Everyone pick your favorite hero from among the ones I listed.

                                Tank
                                David Dunham

David Dunham winced in pain. He had forgotten just how powerful a punch from Tank really was. One punch from the brute would break every bone in a mortal man's body. Just then, David smashed through a brick wall from the force of the blow. He had tried to absorb the momentum, as he would from any normal foe, but this was no normal foe. The giant stood an alarming 9 or 10 feet tall and weighed just over 1000lbs. There was no absorbing his Shadow Weave enhanced attacks. David came to rest when he struck a second brick wall. He'd managed to absorb half the blow, but no more. He could barely shake the cobwebs from his mind as Tank came barreling after him, smashing what was left of the wall of the foundry. That's why they were fighting, Tank was trying to steal a shipment of Shetrun ore for his shadow rituals. David didn't have enough time to reflect on that. Gathering his missing teeth, David stood his ground against the monster known as Tank. Channeling some of Tank's power back at him, David threw an upper cut with over 2000ft-lbs of force. It hardly phased the giant as it struck directly into his chin. Tank was invincible. David knew Tank was invincible, but he kept fighting anyway. Backup was on its way.

Just then, Fire erupted around tank, beating back the power fo the Shadow Weave; Blazer had arrived. Sun Dog and Blazer could defeat Tank together. Together. Blazer's fire engulfed both Sun Dog and Tank. David Dunham absorbed the fire which missed Tank, and redirected into a flurry of punches and kicks a hundred times as powerful as a mortal man's punches and kicks. With Tank cut off from the Shadow Weave, some of David's blows were landing and doing damage. Tank's hair and eyebrows were singed off by the inferno summoned by Blazer. He turned and broke away running.

"He didn't get all he was looking for," said David, "but he did collect some Shetrun crystals before the battle began".

Recently, the Acolytes of Doom had been focusing on stealing Shetrun crystals from various mines and refineries. "You okay? I thought even you would be a gonner after that last blow. I wonder what's the Acolytes latest scheme? "

I'm going to pick several of the best characters, refine them and write notes for work on a sci-fi/fantasy epic. I'm going to write a Prologue with a battle between Necron and Sun Dog and Blazer which will take about 20 pages typed to describe one fight....Robert Jordan style.

It was the hardest David Dunham had ever been hit in his lifetime, he thought. Even with his considerable mutant abilities to absorb energy and moment, this punch hurt; Hurt him badly. David, also known as Sun Dog, had forgotten how hard his opponent, Necron, could really punch. Getting punched by Necron was like getting run over by a speeding freight train concentrated into the end of one giant fist. The brute stood 9 or 10 feet tall, and as if the physical force of his punch wasn't enough, he channeled shadow magic into each punch or kick that he threw. Necron was a terrifying being to behold; A class 10 mutant, his eyes were flaming fires inside a face clothed in shadow, his skin was as hard as diamond, but with the tensile strength of carbon steel. His fists were like anvil, and he was clothed in Shadow Weave energy. No amount of physical damage could destroy this monstrosity of a man..

David didn't have time to think about how terrifying Necron's appearance was. The punch had taken him air borne and he flew backwards colliding with a brick wall. The wall was not enough to stop him, as he continued flying outward into another wall, which did stop his flight finally. That hurt. Even with his considerable energy absorb abilities, Sun Dog ached in every bone in his body, as he had take considerable physical force right to the torso. Necron was already giving chase outside. In flight, David had notice a parked train car, and now Necron was lifting it and throwing it in his direction. Easily a 200 ton class mutant, Necron lifted and threw the train car as though it were a softball. David collected his teeth and dove sideways, avoiding the in-coming object just in time to keep from being smashed by it. Sun Dog had forgotten how much it hurt to be punched by Necron, even for a Class 8 mutant capable of absorbing most of the energy and momentum, it still hurt like Hell. In fact, It was like hell itself being poured into an area the size of a giant fist and colliding with your guts. He was lucky he still had a spine. Any normal man struck by a blow that hard would have broken every bone in his body, but David was hardly normal. Had it been day time, his powers would have been stronger, and he could have absorbed a bit more of the blow, David's Powers were activated by Sun light, but with it being night time he was weaker than his peak form.

Sun Dog had enough. He would counter-attack Necron now. He'd stored the maximum energy he could store at one time, at least at night time. He closed distance to Necron, heart pounding nearly out of his thoracic cavity. There! Leaping upwards to Punch. David threw enough energy at Necron to destroy half the world, or so he thought, and landed a punch square on Necron's Jaw. The giant shrugged it off as though it had been nothing. Just then, fire erupted around Necron; Blazer had arrived at last. A class 8 Telepath, Blazer would prove to be a powerful ally against Necron, as his Pyrokinesis and telekenesis would counter Necron's Shadow Magic. Even fully engulfed in Blazer's flame, Necron was defiant. Flame broke out in every direction around Necron. His clothes were burning, along with his head hair, facial hair, and body hair. Sun Dog absorbed the excess flame for several seconds, as he watched Necron writhing in pain. David focused the absorbed flames into a series of punches and kicks directed at Necron's face and solar plexus. Now the giant was vulnerable. It took two class 8 mutants to do it, but they had defeated Necron. The giant screamed in pain, "you win, for now, but my plans are not totally thwarted," and then teleported away with what was left of his Shadow Weave energy.

Minutes later, the pair of heroes inspected the Shetrun Crystals and discovered half of them were missing. Necron had managed to steal half of them before Sun Dog and Blazer showed up to fight him. The bodies of police officers and security guards lay strewn around the room; The poor fools had tried to detain Necron on their own.

"Necron is getting stronger," said David, "someone, or some thing, is helping his evolution."

"I agree," said Sam Smith, "He has evolved resistance to my Telekinesis, but the fire still works on him, for now. I don't know who he would be working for, he's the strongest being currently alive on the Earth realm, so who gives him his orders?"

"I don't know," Responded David, "maybe, but I don't know of any Class 11 or higher beings alive on the Earth Realm. The last Class 11 being known in history was the Necroseer, but he was banished by Sekakel millennia ago. There could be a connection, his code name is similar isn't it?"

"What is he doing with all of the Shetrun crystals he's been stealing?" asked Sam. "He doesn't strike me as the kind capable of forging Shetrun, unless someone really intelligent is aiding him. Still, if this is related to the Necroseer, we could have serious problems. I wonder whether Charm has an opinion on this topic? He knows how to work Shetrun ore better than anyone alive."

"In the mean time, we're going to have to ask the police to stay out of it when Necron is involved in a break-in. These poor souls had no chance against him, and still they gave their lives freely. Such a waste of human potential and talent. Their contributions and courage will be missed."

"Indeed. I'll give Charm a ring and ask him whether there could be a connection to the Necroseer. In the meantime, we should confiscate the remaining Shetrun ore, we are the only ones capable of protecting it from Necron's grasp."

A few minutes later, Blazer was speaking with Charm. Charm was the team leader for team Gamma, and inventor of magical artifacts which used the Shetrun ore mostly as a focus of power. Charm had a magical suit of Shetrun alloy which produced multiple effects. He rarely engaged in mutant battle directly, being a mortal man, but with the Shetrun suit he could do anything any other mutant could do. Charm was a class 8 telepath, with the mutant ability to make any machine or trinket imaginable. His development of weapons for the lower class mutants greatly enhanced team Gamma's ability to fight mutant villains, such as Necron.

"Necron could be constructing some sort of doomsday device," Replied Charm, "With the amount of Shetrun ore he has collected, he could build just about anything I could imagine. However, I don't think he actually has the mental capacity to do that on his own. Someone else is pulling the strings. Is it the Necroseer? I don't know, but there is a possibility that Necron has turned to the demonic in order to fuel further evolution."

Blazer responded, "Great. Possibly the Necroseer, possibly demons, possibly both. This just keeps getting better by the minute."

                                        ===

Vincent Mendoza scanned the great hall cautiously. In the middle of the Grand Audience chamber were three warlocks huddled around two summoning focuses. Vincent had been his name before he became Necron. Now these warlocks were his last hope of reaching his next level of evolution. Necron walked closer to the summoning circles, and in their midst he saw him, the being known only as the Necroseer, trapped beyond space and time. "My master," I have managed to gather most of the Shetrun ore we need."

"Why have you failed me, Necron. Your enemies are insects compared to the power I have bestowed upon you," replied the Necroseer.

"They are powerful together. If you had taught me how to channel ice-flame, as I requested, I would have been able to overpower even both of them at once. Blazer's Fire is a problem, it counters most of my shadow magic; Even the talents you taught me don't work in his presence."

The Necroseer responded, "I've told you, I cannot teach you ice-flame. The incantation is unique to every being."

"Are you so certain," replied Necron, "They have a class 8 associate who is able to channel Ice Flame. Perhaps I could pry the secret from her, and I would no longer need you. You remember our agreement? I help you escape, and you teach me everything you know.

"The terms of the agreement are fair, Necron, but I still cannot teach you ice-flame; Water Woman channels Ice-flame as an elemental ability, but you must learn to channel it as a shadow magic ability," Replied the Necroseer. "Do not worry about your failure. You've almost collected all we need. Another demon circle will be enough to totally free me from the Abyss. Have patience and I will uphold my end of the bargain. Once you have freed me, these Pit Lords will be yours to command; I swear it by Giddlegon's Black Heart."

Whatever that means," retorted Necron, " Just who in blazes is Giddlegon?"

The Necroseer responded, "I'm amused you've never heard that story. Giddlegon was a black dragon who lived when I was last freed from the Abyss."

Necron continued, "Ha. I take it he was killed and forgotten since the last time you were free. Very well, the bet is on, old man, but you had best not fail me. So far, you have held your end of the bargain well enough, but don't test me, I just might decide to leave you trapped in limbo...dead dragon and all. You need not worry your mind, I'll find enough Shetrun to complete the ritual, even if it's the last thing I do. I want your power, together we would be unstoppable!"

"Together, yes. That is the deal. Together we crush team Gamma and the remnants of the Good Dominion. then we can rule the world...together."

Brandon Fel felt pleased with himself as he ducked another lariat strike from Michael. Parting the Silk met Sword of Destruction met Five Swords as practice sword clattered against practice sword. Brandon could see Michael grimacing with extra effort, an expression rarely seen on the older man's face. His timing was just barely off, ever so slightly. This time Brandon thought he could win, this time his form was perfect. He unleashed a unique flurry of blows, and just barely connected with the last.

"Break. Break," cried Adam Snow, the referee. "Ladies and gentlemen, for the firs time in five years, we have a new swords champion: Brandon Fel!"

Brandon scanned the crowd for his girlfriend, Ronda. Surely she would have been watching the final round of the tournament. Just then, some old man walked up to Brandon and introduced himself. "Hello, young man, my name is Nalchir. I'd like to ask you a few questions about your sword style. You seemed to move like lightning as the game went on. What is your secret? I believe you have a hidden talent that you are only just discovering. You are a pattern shaper, indeed a spell shaper. I saw the aura about you during the fight...we can sense one another, you know. What do you have to say for yourself? You can bend time itself, of course you were destined to beat Michael one year, eventually."

Bran Fel responded, "Bend Time. I don't know what you're talking about, Old Man. I put in years of practice every day to beat Michael, and we're best friends. Are you implying I'm some sort of cheater at the game of swords?"

"Cheater? No," responded Nalchir, "not a cheater, there's no rule against bending time is there? I'm just saying, you have more potential than mere swords, you haven't even begun to discover the powers you possess, but I can teach you. I haven't had an apprentice with your potential in decades..."

"Very Well," replied Bran, "but what sort of secrets can an old man teach me about swords and bending time?"

Nalchil chirped, "More than you could imagine, but for now find your friend and celebrate your victory. We'll discuss this at a later date. No way I'd miss this opportunity to train a new spellshaper."

"I haven't agreed to anything just yet, but I'll keep an open mind, maybe you can convince me tomorrow or the next day?"

"I can convince you now! Observe the flame in my hand," cried Nalchir.

Just then a bluish fire erupted in the old man's hand and sat on his hand without burning him.

"Take it!" Chortled Nalchir, "this will prove you are a spellshaper and not just some lucky kid with a practice sword!"

"You're crazy, old wizard, but I may as well try," retorted Bran.

Yes. Brandon was a Spellshaper. He reached into the old man's hand and grasped the flame, pulling it into his own hand. "Yes! It worked," cried the old man, "you definitely have more potential than any of my recent students. I may as well tag along with you and meet this girlfriend of yours. We're going to be spending a lot of time together in the not too distant future."

"Whatever, old man, bending time by accident is a far cry from controlling fire. Just stay out of my way for now, and I'll consider your words and your magic tricks. I'm always looking to learn new combat skills, so any tricks you can teach me to distract my opponent will be worthwhile."

"No, lad, when we're done, you won't need distractions. You'll win outright every time."

Apparently, Ronda hadn't come to watch the final round after all. Bran Fel wondered aloud why that might be, as he scanned the crowd one last time, then he set of on the short trek to Ronda's apartment. "Whatever, Old Man, you may as well tag along. What did you say your name was again? Melchior?"

"No, no. Nalchir is the name," Responded the old wizard, "And training heroes is my game, believe me, the world needs you, and soon. There is an evil you don't want to meet, who calls himself Necron; Soon, he will grow too powerful for any mortal to defeat. WE, that is Gamma Team, the people I represent, need your help. I'm getting too old for this."

"Sure, sure old man." Laughed Bran, "I win one little sword fight and you say the fate of the world rests on my shoulders. Tell you what, wait right here and I'll come see you later. I'm not sure I want to introduce you to Ronda just yet, you're a tad psycho. However, I did manage to take the fire from your hand, so there's that. I'll give you your shot, tomorrow or the next day, maybe."

"Fair enough, lad. I'll be at the local Holiday Inn, room 227 if you need me," responded Nalchir.

"How bad could it be? This Necron is just one man right?" asked Brandon.

"Hmmm...no," replied Nalchir, "Necron is hardly a man any more. He's killed several Team Gamma members recently. He's stronger than any man, stronger than any mutant. It takes a special kind of hero to last even a few seconds against him. We don't know exactly why Necron has grown so powerful in recent years, but every time we encounter him, he is stronger than the previous fight. Think on this kid, if you don't accept my offer, your life could be shorter than you imagine. We suspect Necron is up to some ritual. He hopes to become stronger than anything, and we intend to stop him."

"That is why I have trained with the sword for six years against Michael. I intend to be ready for any threat that is posed against my country," replied Brandon.

The old man chimed in, "The sword alone won't defeat Necron. You'll need everything I can teach you, and some improvisation, if you intend to face him yourself. Room 227, tomorrow. Be there, and be prepared to learn and unlearn."
