It's been a week since the last time i posted the update of this graphic. This year continues to track at or below previous daily record lows.

If you check this link, about a page down and ot the right is a chart labelled "Greenland Surface Melt Extent Interactive Chart". Click on that and you'll see how much melting happened in 2012 compared to this year. It's basically already impossible for this year to catch up with 2012 even if the remainder of the year was worst case scenario.

Here's a link to an interactive extent graphic which shows this year as currently sitting 50,000 sq km below the next lowest extent for 7/16/2019. This is about half the area of Louisiana worth of additional melt beyond the next lowest year on this day of the year.

The Average Arctic Sea Ice thickness is also tied for lowest on record for the most recent date calculated, so the Volume should be lowest on record.

We are on pace to set an new all-time record low for the Arctic Sea Ice Extent.

This melt spike was well forecast by the computer models. It has maintained itself for a few days now, so the area under the curve is growing pretty large. It still doesn't have yesterday's data.

They said on The Weather Channel this morning that Greenland is actually melting worse than 2012 melt season. Apparently it melted by 270 Billion Tons in July alone. In 2012 it melted by about 600 billion tons in the entire melt season. So 2019 July equaled almost half of 2012 entire melt season.

they said its some sort of new record for the most melt in a single month.

As you can see here, August is starting off even more melt than June and July.

July Sea Ice melt ended up being slightly worse than 2012.

Greenland land ice melt is also apparently on pace to break the record, which is also 2012.

the Antarctic side of things continues to track at record lows, so the total Global Sea Ice Area also continues to track near record lows.

Sea Ice extent is clearly record low, even though total area is not quite as clear cut.

Here is the Antarctic Sea Ice Extent. Close, but not quite at the record.

We're definitely on pace for a new record low minimum Sea Ice Extent in the Arctic.

Also, last month was Alaska's hottest month on record, beating the previous record by an entire average degree Celsius.

                      ssmi_ice_ext.png

Greenland is on pace to melt nearly 50% worse than the previous record melt year, which is also 2012.

We need a global child limitation somehow.

Maybe a law banning reproduction for couples with I.Q. less than 130.

Imagine how powerful "evolution" would be if we actually selected for high I.Q. reproduction, instead of rich guys just fucking the prettiest playboy playmate?!

Anyway, Global Warming is going to be totally out of control in the next decade, with even more CO2 pollution, more Methane pollution, and another 1.6 average snow days missing at 40N and above. Greenland, Iceland, and the Himalayas will melt even faster than ever before.

I think the easiest way to curb CO2 production is to have a 1 child per couple limit, and again limit reproduction only to couples with average I.Q. 130 or above. With this method, we could lower population to a Billion within a generation or two, without violence, AND we'd ensure that our offspring are as smart as possible.

Now if we had (encouraged) voluntary vasectomy's of all the stupid men, imagine the government could pay for the vasectomy one time, and avoid all those Refundable Child Tax Credit and Earned Income Credit payments, which after about 20 years of enforcement would grow large enough to save the government a couple hundred billion dollars per year in tax revenues....which could then be spent on further measures to curb climate change.

Something needs to be done about India and Especially Pakistan completing market saturation of electricity and automobiles. By the time they fully modernize, the rate of global pollution will double or triple. Pakistan is mostly Muslim, so they believe in 10 kids having 10 kids. In another 20 to 30 years their population will be as much as the rest of the world combined. They will get the food to feed this population by importing from the Amazon in South America.

Solar Photovoltaics are not necessary a good solution to the Global Warming problem. Allow me to explain.

White or yellow sandy deserts have an average Albedo of 0.3, while black photovoltaics have an average Albedo of 0.04. So if you cover the deserts with solar panels, you will increase the rate of warming of the deserts by 26%, which will offset any savings of reduced CO2 production that might be done by the panels themselves. In short, global warming would probably actually accelerate if we just mass produced solar panels. At least wind power does not have this problem.
