A representative from Alabama is talking about a regional minimum wage now.

Think someone in my state government is stalking me for ideas?

Yw. After That Town, my state has the highest minimum wage in the country. Probs why even Alabammerians can be right twice in a day. Except for banging your sises. That's always wrong outside of select anime, and all anime is wrong inherently on account of being non-Western waste from a non-Western shithole, so.

So first it was the "Bad hombres" that Trump wanted to kick out of the country.

Then it was the "Hombres" that weren't bad but just got in here illegally.

Now... those who had use government assistance or gotten Obamacare which was required by law, are going to have a harder time becoming US citizens.

What's next? Oh right. We already know what is next. The 14th amendment. You know the one that says if you were born here you are a US citizen. Don't believe it?

I'm not one toss the phrase "Hitler" around easily (trust me I haven't).... but if he manages to take out the 14th amendment then he's just a few steps away from Nazi Germany. Am I being paranoid? Overreaching? You tell me.

Depends on what you're measuring it by.

In terms of the level of authoritarianism that we have going..?

          No, it doesn't come close.

In terms of the parallels to the shift from a representative republic to Fascism that Germany endured, tho...?

Well, now you're getting a bit too close for most people's comforts, I'd imagine.

No more so in how Nazi Germany began removing all the Jews. People were all for it and supported Hitler. Then when he implemented a plan to remove anyone who had jewish blood and looked at the records of people's grand parents to see who was jew and who wasn't. Many supporters were to find out that they had jewish blood and were among the ones being kicked out.

BTW, I'd like to make a bit of a note here when it comes to this 14th amendment biz...

There are some people out there that will legitimately use the 14th amendment to their advantage in ways that some might find bad...?

I know, because I remember reading a news article some time back of some Russian women coming over to the US and having their children born here specifically to make them US citizens.

I'm not sure how much of a problem it is (is it even a problem...? ), but if it's actually a detrimental practice, the 14th amendment could potentially need a little tweaking. Not outright removal, tho, like the proposed (permanent) removal of ICE.

Also, does anyone have any (new?) thoughts on Osacio-Alexandria Cortez? Cuz I've changed my opinion on her a bit.

I was relatively fine with her when she popped up into the scene, but she's actually part of the DSA, which I just kind of assumed was Social Democrats mislabeling themselves again because Bernie did that.

However, Bernie's a Social Democrat while he many times called himself a Democratic Socialist...to the point that the prime minister of Denmark got frustrated with him (lol). I don't get how he's managed this hard to avoid calling himself a Social Democrat so much of the time, but whatever. Cortez is actually a different story, even though the policies she's made public to try and get elected are actually not all that bad outside of abolishing ICE (which she seems to be going the Trump route on Obamacare with and not bothering with a replacement plan). Not only has she apparently embraced the DSA, she's a member of it (which I don't think Bernie can currently attest to, I checked his page).

She's also gone out and said that she'll work for compromises on policy...but not her "vision." (In other words, she's into the inch-by-inch approach).

Normally I'm not one to pay attention too much to either Sargon or that 1791L guy, but they actually made fairly good videos on her. Sargon's typically better when he's not involved in live-streams.

(The quote is at 9:39 with various other sources on the DSA and other sites apparently confirming what's going on with her overall political stance as a DS).

Some quotes were already shown in the video, but let's go over them.

Shortly after the 9:00-minute mark on the first video (or somewhere around that point), Sargon points out the DSA's stance on wanting "Social ownership" which includes...wanting "worker-owned cooperatives."

That's not the only thing tho.

From the 1791L video, it brought up a paragraph from the DSA website after the 7:45-minute mark. It's not fake.

                  Sooooooo...

                  "Social ownership?"
                  "Economic democracy?"
                  "Worker-owned cooperatives?"

Yeah, let's not tap-dance around the meanings like maggots and call out that shit for what it actually is:

State ownership (it doesn't inherently mean that, but it always goes that way, so it might as well in Socialist-speak).
Woorkeers ownen da meems uf poroduktion...! (This one's just really obvious).
And councils of Soviets (workers' councils, a council is basically the same thing as a cooperative).

                  TL;DR:

She's a Socialist, and she wants to do the same shit that all Socialists want to do (because it hasn’t failed enough, apparently). Fuck you, Cortez. I want Bernie.

So how much are the Dems listening to this girl, and are they fucking up and deciding they need more Democratic Socialists, or separating themselves away from her? She did, after all, become relatively well known once she popped onto the scene. I would imagine it's the latter considering what happened to Bernie, but you know, I didn't think Trump would get as much attention as he did some years ago, so...

                  Yeah.

Oh, how terrible. Workers owning their products. What a crazy idea. Instead we should keep the status quo and let 1% of the population own most of the wealth.

                                        Yeah.

There's a big difference in getting images of a person in a bad light. And then there is watching someone talk for entire minutes starring at you with eye that kill your soul, slowly.
